Volkswagen has announced the details about the 2022 ID.4 electric SUV. The big news is that the ID.4 Pro now has an EPA-estimated 280 miles of range, which is an increase of 20 miles over the 2021 version. The ID.4 Pro S rear-wheel-drive has an EPA-estimated range of 268 miles, while AWD Pro has 251 miles of range and the AWD Pro S has EPA 245 miles of range.

The rear-wheel drive ID.4 Pro is powered by a single electric motor at the rear that generates 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. The ID.4 AWD adds another electric motor at the front with 107 hp and 119 pound-feet, to give it a total output of 295 hp and 339 lb-ft.

The 2022 ID.4 also gets an improved DC fast-charging speed, from 125 kW to 135 kW. The ID.4 comes with three years of free unlimited 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America DC fast chargers. The pricing for the 2022 VW ID.4 starts at $41,955, including destination, but before any tax credits.
