Volkswagen has announced the pricing for the 2022 Golf GTI and Golf R models. The all-new GTI starts at $30,540, including destination, while the Golf R is priced at $44,640.

2022 VW Golf GTI

The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 241 horsepower (up 13 hp) and 273 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder can be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG).

2022 VW Golf R

The Golf R is also powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 315 horsepower (up 27 hp) and 295 lb-ft with the DSG or 280 lb-ft. with the manual. The Golf R also sends the power to all four wheels and the new 4Motion all-wheel drive system now has rear-axle torque vectoring, which can distribute up to 100 percent of the rear torque to an individual rear wheel.

Inside both models come standard with a 10.25-inch digital cockpit. The GTI also comes standard with an 8.25-inch touchscreen display, while higher trim levels and the Golf R get a larger 10-inch display.

The 2022 Golf GTI is available in S, SE, and Autobahn trim levels, while the Golf R is only available in a single trim level. Both models will arrive in the fourh quarter of this year.
