Volkswagen has announced the pricing for its new entry-level SUV, the 2022 Taos. The small SUV arrives in June with a friendly price tag that starts at $22,995, plus destination.
The Taos will be offered in three trim levels: S, SE and SEL. All trim levels are powered by the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The front-wheel drive version has an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the all-wheel drive 4Motion version gets a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The VW Taos measures 175.8 inches long, 9.3 inches shorter than the Tiguan, with a wheelbase of 105.9 inches. It is also 72.5 inches wide and 64.4 inches tall.
Some of the standard features, include automatic headlights, push-button start, and cloth seats. Keyless access, leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a BeatsAudio sound system are all optional.
The IQ.DRIVE suite of driver assistance technology is available, which includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, a blind spot monitor, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
