Subaru has unveiled the updated 2022 Forester lineup, which includes the introduction of the new Wilderness model. The Forester Wilderness makes the Forester even more rugged and ready for an adventure.

The Forester Wilderness follows the introduction of the Outback Wilderness. It gets a beefier suspension that adds an extra half-inch of ground clearance, giving it a total 9.2-inch of space underneath. The extra height increases the approach, departure and breakover clearance. The Wilderness also gets all-terrain tires and a new off-road program in its drive mode system that is designed for low speed trail driving.

The Forester Wilderness also stands out with its black honeycomb grille, body-side cladding, black wheels and copper contrast stitching inside.

The rest of the 2022 Forester lineup also gets an updated face with new headlights, a restyled grilled and a new bumper. New roof rails have been added that can handle up to 800 pounds of weight, up from 700, when parked or 200 lbs when you’re driving. That means that you can install a larger roof tent when you’re camping.

The EyeSight safety suite also gets an optional automatic steering assist system, which helps avoid collisions at speeds below 50 mph.

The 2022 Subaru Forester starts at $26,320, while the Wilderness starts at $33,945.
