Porsche has unveiled its second electric car, the 2022 Taycan Cross Turismo, which is a wagon version of the Taycan sedan. With its more cargo space, higher ride height and more headroom, the Taycan Cross Turismo is the perfect electric car for the family.
The Taycan Cross Turismo gets extra body cladding and a 0.8 inch higher ride height to also give it a crossover look. An Off Road Design Package also raises the height an additional 0.39 inch, which is the same as the new Gravel Mode raises it and adds extra skid plates to make it a little more capable on the trails. For the adventurers, there’s also an optional rear-mounted bike carrier and roof rails.
Inside there aren’t that many differences in the front, since the Taycan Cross Turismo gets the same center console and dashboard as the sedan, but there is just under a half an inch more headroom. Passengers in the the back seat get 3.6 inches more headroom.
Cargo space has increased by 0.7 cubic feet on non-Turbo models for a total of 15 cubic feet, while Turbo versions have 14.3 cubic feet of space, 1.4 more than the sedan. 15 cubic feet of cargo space does seem small, but that’s with the parcel shelf in place. With thee rear seats folded there’s 42.8 cubic feet of space. There’s also a 2.9 cubic foot frunk.
The Taycan Cross Turismo will be offered in 4, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S versions. the base 4 version comes with all-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors. It also comes standard with the 93.4-kWh battery pack.
Porsche says that the Turbo S can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds, which is just 0.1 second slower than the sedan. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo reachs 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
