The 2022 Ford Maverick is slated to arrive this fall, but if you want the hybrid version, get ready for it to be hard to find. A new report claims that due to limited production allocations and supply issues, due to the pandemic, the only Maverick hybrid models that will be delivered to dealers will be sold orders.
According to MaverickTruckClub.com the hybrid version will be scarce for at least the first two months after the Maverick arrives. Ford is reportedly expecting 35 percent of the initial production to be the hybrid version, which will eventually increase to 40 percent.
So it looks like the best way to secure your Maverick is to order it. This is just the beginning, since Ford is shifting towards a built-to-order strategy to prevent large stockpiles of its vehicles sitting on dealer lots. This will prevent Ford from having to add discounts on its vehicles to keep its inventory moving off dealer lots.
