It looks like Buick isn’t ready to introduce the second-generation Encore in the US, since it’s only giving the 2022 Encore a few updates.
The Encore is still powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is optional. The front-wheel drive Encore is rated at 24 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive version is rated at 23/30/26 mpg.
Two of the updates include an electric heater and driver and front passenger seatback map pockets. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The Rear Vision camera is also standard.
Lastly the 2022 Encore is available with two safety packages. The first safety package adds a blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert. The second adds rain sensing wipers, parking sensors, forward collision alert and lane departure warning.
