MINI only gives its models small styling updates for their midlife refresh and that’s the same with the updated 2021 MINI Countryman. You’ll probably have a hard time even noticing the styling changes, but at least inside there are some bigger tech updates.
The front and rear fascias of the 2021 Countryman have been updated with a new grille and restyled bumpers. The Countryman also now comes standard with LED headlights and at the rear there are new Union Jack LED taillights.
Inside there’s a new 5.0-inch digital instrument display and there’s an 8.8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Plus there are new connectivity options, like Amazon Alexa.
Under the hood there aren’t any changes, which means that the Cooper Countryman is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 134 horsepower and the Cooper S Countryman is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 189-hp. The Cooper SE has plug-in hybrid has 224 horsepower and 18 miles of electric range, while the John Cooper Works Countryman has a nice 301-hp.
All-wheel drive is available on the Cooper and Cooper S, while it’s standard on the Cooper SE and John Cooper Works versions.
The 2021 MINI Countryman is scheduled to arrive in the US this summer.
