The 2021 Hyundai Palisade has earned the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Last year’s model only got the lower Top Safety Pick award, but now that all Palisade trim levels come standard with the better LED headlights, the big SUV gets the higher safety rating.
The reason last year’s Palisade didn’t get the higher rating is because in order to be eligible for the top award, all of a vehicle’s available headlights must receive an Acceptable or Good rating. The standard LED headlights on the 2021 Palisade have been rated as Good (the top score).
Hyundai now says that all of its SUVs and crossovers now either have the Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ rating.
