The 2021 Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback have earned the top safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) – Top Safety Pick+.
Both the Q5 and Q5 Sportback received a good rating in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations — the driver-side and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The 2021 Q5 models also received new headlights, with the standard full LED headlights receiving an acceptable rating and the Matrix-design LED headlights receiving a good rating.
The standard front crash prevention system earned a superior rating in the vehicle-to-vehicle evaluation and “Advanced” ratings in the vehicle-to-pedestrian test.
The Q5 joins the A6, A6 Allroad, A7, e-tron and e-tron Sportback, which have all received the Top Safety Pick+ award.
