Acura is serious about the performance improvements it’s given to the 2021 Acura TLX. To show off the new TLX, Acura has announced that it will make its racing debut at the 2020 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Acura will compete in the 98th running of the “Race to the Clouds” on August 30 with two race prepped versions of the 2021 TLX that are powered by modified versions of the TLX’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. A “Time Attack” NSX will also be at the event.

A TLX Type S will also serve as the official pace car.

Last year the RealTime Racing TLX GT finished first in the Open Class for the third year in a row and Acura currently holds the record for a hybrid-production car with the NSX and a front-wheel drive record with the TLX.

The 2021 Acura TLX is scheduled to arrive this fall.
