Kia unveiled the all-new 2020 Kia Soul late last year at the LA Auto Show and although we don’t have the pricing yet, the EPA has released the fuel economy specs for the new Soul. The good news is that the 2020 Soul is now more fuel efficient than before.
The 2020 Kia Soul offers two four-cylinder engine options, plus the fully electric Soul EV. The The base engine is a 2.0L four-cylinder with 147-hp and 132 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The sportier choice is the 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder with 201-hp and 195 lb-ft. that’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The 2.0L engine is the most efficient, since the 2020 Soul Eco Dynamics model is rated at 29 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The most efficient gas-powered 2019 Soul was the 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The 1.6L engine is rated at 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, which is an improvement of 1 mpg in the city and 1 mpg on the highway over the 2019 model.
The EPA has not announced its ratings for the 2020 Soul EV.
