Buick will soon become a crossover only brand and to expand its lineup, it’s introducing another small crossover, called the Encore GX. It will slot in between the Encore and Envision in Buick’s lineup and now we’ve learned that it will have a reasonable starting price at $25,095.

2020 Buick Encore GX

Car and Driver is reporting that the 2020 Encore GX will start at $25,095 for the Preferred trim level, while the Select starts at $26,695, and the Essence at $29,495. If you want all-wheel drive it’s a $2,000 option.

The Encore comes standard with a 137 horsepower turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that’s mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). If you want more power, the all-wheel drive models are powered by a 155-hp turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. You can also get the the more powerful engine for $395 on front-wheel drive models.

If you want it to look a bit sportier, the Sport Touring package ($650) adds dark wheels, a more aggressive grille and red exterior accents. The Safety package ($1,815) is only available on the Preferred trim and adds heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, a blind-spot monitor, remote start, and a power liftgate.

There’s also an Experience Buick package ($1,995) for the Select and Essence models, which adds navigation, a power moonroof, navigation, unique wheels, and surround vision. Lastly the Advanced Technology package ($2,455) that adds navigation, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, rear park assist, surround view, and a power liftgate.
