Volkswagen has confirmed that it will reveal the all-new 2019 VW Jetta next month at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. VW recently gave a presentation about the 2019 Jetta which featured this single teaser image.
The teaser image previews the 2019 Jetta’s profile, which is sleeker than the outgoing model. VW has already thrown out the “coupe-like” reference to hint at its sportier lines. We can also see that the Jetta’s new face will borrow styling cues from the new Arteon. VW’s Canadian website also recently posted a teaser of the 2019 Jetta.
The 2019 Jetta will be based on the MQB platform, which is also the basis for the VW Golf and Audi A3. The existing 1.4L turbocharged engine will carryover with a few extra horses and will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. If you want more power, the Jetta GLI will make a return about a year after the standard Jetta arrives.
We’ll have more details about the 2019 VW Jetta when the Detroit Auto Show kicks off on January 13, 2018.
