Subaru has announced that the 2019 Subaru Ascent SUV is now rolling off the production line at its plant in Lafayette, Indiana. To prepare for the 2019 Ascent, Subaru invested $140 million in equipment and hired an extra 200 employees.
The 2019 Ascent joins three other Subaru models produced at the plant: Outback, Legacy and Impreza. “The Subaru Ascent is a great addition to our production line-up,” said Tom Easterday, Senior Executive Vice President of SIA. “Production of this outstanding new family vehicle allowed us to create hundreds of new jobs at SIA, and also at our suppliers in Indiana and across the country.”
The 2019 Ascent will arrive by mid-2018. Pricing for the Ascent starts at $32,970. All versions of the 2019 Ascent are powered by a 260-hp turbocharged 2.4L engine. The Ascent will be available in either seven-passenger or eight-passenger versions with four trim levels: Base, Premium, Limited and Touring.
