While convertible SUVs seem to be a growing trend, we haven’t really seen any two-door SUVs, since the beginning of the segment, back in the early 1990s. Well Land Rover feels that there are at least 999 buyers out there that would pay a premium for a two-door Range Rover, so it’s created the 2019 Range Rover SV Coupe.

We say only 999 buyers will want it because that’s all that will be able to get it. Land Rover is only planning to produce 999 examples, which are priced at £240,000 in the UK. On the outside the biggest difference you’ll notice are the deletion of the two rear doors, but it does feature unique side vent and grille designs. This is also the first Range Rover with a 23-inch wheel option. The ride height has also been lowered by 8 mm and the suspension has been retuned to give the SV Coupe a sportier ride.

Inside is where it all matters. The interior gets semi-aniline leather front seats with a gradated diamond quilt design that is unique to the SV Coupe. Buyers can choose from four front-to-rear contrast interior color options or a range of single-tone interior colors. Both are complemented by a choice of three elegant wood veneers.

If you want to make it even more special, the Special Vehicle Operations will give you access to 100 more paint colors, plus unique ‘match to sample’ hues, with a range of finishes; duo-tone front and rear leather colors with a bespoke quilt pattern; contrast stitching; headrest embroidery; door handle and tread plate engraving and semi-precious metal badging.

The 2019 Range Rover SV Coupe is also the fastest-ever full-size Range Rover, with a 165 mph top speed. It’s powered by a 557 horsepower 5.0-liter Supercharged V8, which is the the most powerful engine ever placed in a full-size Range Rover. The SV Coupe hits 60 mph in just 5 seconds.
