Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the high-performance version of the all-new G-Class, the 2019 G63. The new G63 is powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine that generates 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. of torque, which gives the SUV a 0-60 mph time of only 4.4 seconds, 0.9 seconds faster than before.

“The new AMG G63 brings driving performance to the segment of unadulterated off-road vehicles in unexpected form,” Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH stated.

The 4.0L V8 is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system (40:600 with three differential locks. The 2019 G63 has a limited top speed of 137 mph, but if you add the AMG Driver’s package, the top speed increases to 149 mph. There are also five on-road and three off-road driving modes that can be selected with the AMG Dynamic Select rocker switch.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 stands out from the other G-Class models with its AMG radiator and bumper with larger air inlets. The G63 also gets flared front and rear wheel arches for the wider tires, red brake calipers, available 22-inch wheels and V8 Biturbo badging.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 will have its world debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
