Hyundai has unveiled its third high-performance model from the N sub-brand – the 2019 Hyundai i30 Fastback N. Based on the i30 Fastback that’s sold in Europe, the i30 Fastback N borrows its turbocharged engine from the i30 N hatchback, giving it up to 271 horsepower.
Under the hood the 2019 Hyundai i30 Fastback N offers two versions of the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with the standard version generating 247 horsepower. An available Performance Package increases the power to 271 horsepower. Both versions have 260 lb-ft. of torque, but an overboost function temporarily increases the available torque to 279 lb-ft.
A new N Grin Control system which allows drivers to choose from five drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom.
The standard i30 Fastback N can reach 62 mph in 6.4 seconds, while the i30 Fastback N with the Performance Package can reach the same speed in 6.1 seconds.
Inside the 2019 i30 N Fastback features an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A specific N mode screen menu also shows the customizable settings for the engine, Rev matching, exhaust sound and Performance Package settings.
The 2019 Hyundai i30 Fastback N is going to debut next week at the Paris Motor Show.
