Honda has announced that the production of the 2019 Honda Insight kicked off today in Indiana. To support the production of the 2019 Insight, Honda invested $32.5 million at its Honda Manufacturing of Indiana plant that will be the sole production site for the Insight in North America.
Honda has yet to announce the pricing for the 2019 Insight, but it will arrive this summer. The 2019 Honda Insight, is a hybrid sedan that’s positioned between the Civic and Accord in Honda’s U.S. lineup. The 2019 Insight is powered by the third generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system that generates a combined 151 horsepower and 197 lb-ft. of torque. The Insight’s hybrid system is estimated to have a 55 mpg rating in the city.
The 2019 Insight will come standard with the Honda Sensing safety suite, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch TFT digital driver’s meter, push-button start, and a 6-speaker audio system.
