Ford has unveiled the 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series, which is officially the lightest GT yet, since it drops 40 pounds.

To help it drop a few pounds, the GT Carbon Series gets lighter carbon fiber wheels, a titanium exhaust, titanium lugnuts and a polycarbonate rear hatch with additional venting. Although the GT Carbon Series is made for the track, you won’t have to suffer getting there, since it still comes with a radio, air conditioning and SYNC 3. But there are a few deletions, like cupholders and the driver’s side seat storage bin.

The GT Carbon Series features two exposed carbon fiber stripes with matching A-pillars, lower body panels and gloss carbon fiber wheels. There are four optional accent colors – silver, orange, red or blue – for the mirror caps, center stripe and calipers. Inside there are matte carbon fiber sills and air register pods.

If you want to get one of the limited GT Carbon Series models, you’ll need to act now, since Ford only plans to build only one per week. Ford will open the final owner application process for the GT on November 8. Prospective owners can submit their applications at www.FordGT.com for 30 days.
