Chevy is giving most of its car lineup a refresh for the 2019 model year, which includes the 2019 Cruze and Spark. But don’t worry the 2019 Chevy Malibu hasn’t been left out, since it too is getting a slight facelift for the new model year.
The 2019 Chevy Malibu arrives with a new front fascia that includes a restyled grille and new headlights. Chevy feels that the new grille gives the 2019 Malibu a bolder look, while the LED headlights and daytime running lights give it a more modern look. At the rear the dual exhaust outlets have been pushed further to the corners and the taillights have been redesigned.
The 2019 Malibu also sees the introduction of the new RS trim level. The 2019 Malibu RS adds a sportier touch to the Malibu with its 18-inch machined wheels, black sport grille, black bowtie emblems, rear spoiler and a dual-outlet exhaust. Inside, the Malibu RS adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, black cloth seats and a standard 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen. The 2019 Chevy Malibu RS will be priced around $25,000.
Other updates to the 2019 Mailbu include a standard 8-inch infotainment system, the rear vision camera is now standard on the Malibu L, there are new alloy wheels and the Malibu Premiere model comes standard with heated rear seats.
Under the hood the 1.5L turbo is now mated to a CVT, but luckily the more powerful 2.0L engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic. If you prefer something greener the 2019 Malibu Hybrid is available and gets up to 49 mpg in the city.
The 2019 Chevy Malibu goes on sale this fall.
