It’s being reported that the 2019 BMW Z4 M40i will be powered a turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder engine, but its output will differ based on which country you live in. The base engine will have around 335, while the top version will generate around 385 horsepower. The higher output engine is being built for countries without EU emissions regulations, like the United States.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Z4 will also be offered with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with the Z4 sDrive20i generating 180 horsepower and 200 lb-ft. of torque, while the sDrive30i will feature the same engine, but with 248 hp and 258 lb-ft.

If you’re hoping that BMW will build a Z4 M, sadly it’s already been reported that it isn’t happening. There’s a chance that the Z4 M40i could get a Competition Package that will give it a bit more power.
