China loves its stretched cars, which is why several automakers offer long wheelbase versions of their standard models in the country. To capitalize on the trend, Audi has unveiled its first long wheelbase SUV, the 2019 Audi Q5L.

The Q5L has a wheelbase that is 3.5-inches longer than the standard Audi Q5. The added length between the wheels benefits rear passengers, who now have an extra 4.3-inches of knee room. Even with the extra room for the rear passengers, the luggage compartment remains unchanged, since the Q5L has the same 19.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat.

The Audi Q5L will have five trim levels, Vogue, Lifestyle, Design, Sport and Sport plus. These differ in many exterior and interior details. The base Vogue model comes standard with three-zone climate control and the Audi smartphone interface on board. Move up to the Lifestyle model and the Q5L gets the MMI navigation plus system and the fully digital Audi virtual cockpit. The Design, Sport and Sport plus trim levels also add the Bang & Olufsen Sound System with 3D sound.

Only one engine option is available, the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that is available 190 horsepower or 252 horsepower versions. The Q5L reaches 62 mph in in 8.6 or 6.7 seconds, respectively.

The 2019 Audi Q5L will go on sale in China this summer.
