A few weeks ago it was reported that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will get a 368 horsepower turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine. While that report was quickly refuted, another FCA leak now hints that the Alfa Romeo Giulia will be getting a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder as well.

A leak from FCA’s OEM service site reportedly shows a new four-cylinder engine option for the Giulia which will generate 350 horsepower, but even if the screenshot is accurate, it’s not known if it will be offered in the United States.
FCA has yet to confirm the new turbocharged 2.0L engine, but Car and Driver reached out to the automaker for a comment. Alfa Romeo USA product communications manager Berj Alexanian stated “No plans for any other engines for Giulia in North America for 2018 model year besides the 2.0L and 2.9L [gasoline] versions.”
The key to this statement from FCA is that the reply says “2018 model year,” which hints that this new engine could be offered with the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia.
Given the fact that the new engine is already listed FCA’s service system means that we’ll probably see the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia debut soon.
