There’s now an S-Class sedan for almost every buyer, since Mercedes-Benz has announced that the updated 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class can be configured in 24 versions. S-Class buyers in Europe of nine gasoline and diesel engines, rear wheel drive and 4MATIC, short and long wheelbase, and models branded Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach.
The 2018 S-Class also gets a new in-line six-cylinder engine with two power specs. In the S 450 it generates 367 horsepower, while in the S 500 the six-cylinder packs 435 horsepower. Compared to the outgoing V8 powered S 500, the new version will be better on the environment with C02 emissions being reduced by around 22 percent.
The top spec S 600 is powered by a V12 engine with 530 horsepower, while in the Mercedes-Maybach S 650, the V12 generates a nice 630 horsepower. If you want the sportiest S-Class you’ll want the Mercedes-AMG S 65 with its 6.0L biturbo V12 that generates 630 horsepower.
