Last week it was reported that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL would be getting a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with a healthy 368 horsepower. Now we’re hearing that, that is simply not the case.

A document that FCA sent over to NHTSA stated that the 2.0L four-cylinder would have 368 horsepower, but that might have been a mistake. A revised filing now states that the engine’s output is “not rated,” which provides some proof that the earlier number was wrong. An unnamed source also recently told Road & Track that the 368 horsepower rating is “dead wrong.”

While a 368 horsepower Jeep Wrangler sounds amazing, the turbocharged 2.0L will still likely not disappoint, since it’s rumored to have around 300 horsepower. We’ll get all the official details from the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of next month.
