The next-generation 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) is literally the worst kept secret for the 2018 model year. After leaked photos, leaked NHTSA documents and even a few early tidbits of info, we now have a leaked owner’s manual for the new 2018 Wrangler.
The leaked owner’s manual/ user guide is brought to us by JL Wrangler Forums, the site that has kept us up to date on all the early details about the new Wrangler. While the Wrangler doesn’t reveal too many photos or official specs for the 2018 Wrangler, it does give some details about the available trims and some other tidbits.
The biggest news is about the new power sliding top that makes it even easier to have the essential open top fun in the Wrangler. The power sliding top is not removable, but can open at speeds up to 60 mph, but there is a manual mode. The owner’s manual also details the new entry system for the rear seat, which should be easier than the current model. Plus the interior will also be a bit more luxurious with items like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
The rest of the owner’s manual does give a few close ups of the new Wrangler, showing things like its 8.4-inch infotainment system and details about servicing the 2.0L and 3.6L engines. The two-door Wrangler can tow up to 2,000 pounds, while the four-door Wrangler Unlimited can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The tow ratings for the 3.6L V6 aren’t listed. To save fuel the Wrangler will also come with start/stop technology and to make sure you don’t back into anything there will be back up sensors and a camera.
With all the leaked information it’s only a matter of weeks until the 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) is finally unveiled. It will officially have its debut at the 2017 LA Auto Show next month.
