Hyundai has revealed the newest member to the i30 family – the 2018 Hyundai i30 Fastback. The i30 Fastback will be available in Europe starting early next year as a sleeker alternative to the i30 and i30 Tourer models.
Compared to the i30 five-door the i30 Fastback is 30 mm lower (1.2-inches) and its chassis has been lowered by 5mm, while the stiffness of the suspension has been increased by 15%. Its elongated silhouette is longer by 115 mm (4.5-inches) than the five-door. At the front the grille’s height has also been reduced, so it appears wider. As you move to the rear, the i30 Fastback gets a sleeker shape than the rest of the i30 lineup, that’s inspired by the shape of a teardrop.
Buyers will be able to choose from up to 12 available exterior colors. The i30 Fastback will offer two gasoline engine options: a 1.0L three-cylinder turbo with 118 horsepower or a 138 horsepower 1.4L four-cylinder. There are also two diesel options: a 108-hp 1.6L or a 134-hp 1.6L.
