Chevy is adding two new versions of the Colorado ZR2 to the 2018 Chevy Colorado lineup. The 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Midnight and Dusk editions add black accents to the Colorado ZR2’s exterior, like black emblems and wheels.
The 2018 Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition features a exterior finish with black Chevy bowtie emblems and 17-inch five-spoke black wheels. The ZR2 Midnight also features a black sport bar with off-road LED lighting and ZR2 logos on the sport-bar sail panels.
If you don’t want a black ZR2, but still want the black accents, then you can choose the ZR2 Dusk Edition, which offers the same content as the ZR2 Midnight, but can be purchased in all other ZR2 exterior colors.
“The Colorado ZR2 Midnight and Dusk Edition models offer customers even more personalization choices from the only company with three distinct trucks: midsize, full-size and full-size heavy-duty,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. vice president, Truck Strategy, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Chevrolet offers more choices because the truck market is too diverse for a ‘one size fits most’ strategy.”
Compared to the other Colorado models, the Colorado ZR2 sits 2 inches higher and features a 3.5-inch wider track. It also gets an off-road suspension with cast-iron control arms and Multimatic DSSV dampers. The ZR2 also gets a front electronic locking differential, electronic locking rear differential, hill descent control, an aluminum skidplate, off-road rocker protection, Autotrac transfer case, transfer case shield, four-wheel disc brakes, and modified rear axle with a 3.42 ratio.
The 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 can be powered by either a 3.6L V6 or 2.8L turbo-diesel engine.
