On the outside the updated 4 Series gets restyled LED headlights that replace the previous xenon units and LED foglights. The rear taillights have the same similar shape, but they are now LEDs. The rest of the updates include modified air intakes, line-specific applications and a restyled rear bumper. There are also four new wheel designs and two new color options: Sunset Orange and Snapper Rocks Blue.

Inside there’s a new steering wheel, new large tile-style control pads to operate the navigation system and a new Multifunctional Instrument Display that changes its display based on the driving experience mode selected.

Since the powertrain was updated for the 2017 model year, there aren’t any updates, which means the 430i, 440i and M4 powertrains carryover unchanged. BMW did decide to update the Coupe and Gran Coupe’s suspension, which now features a stiffer suspension to give both models sportier handling without any loss of ride comfort. This applies not only to the standard suspension, but also to the M Sport suspension and the Adaptive suspension.
