If you’re looking for a cheaper Audi R8, Audi may have your answer with the rear-wheel drive 2018 Audi R8 RWS, which debuted last fall. With a price tag starting at $139,950, the R8 RWS is more than $25,000 cheaper than the all-wheel drive R8.

According to Motor Trend, the 2018 Audi R8 RWS can be yours for $26,000 less than the R8 V10 and it’s almost $56,000 cheaper than the R8 V10 Plus. While it may be cheaper, the R8 RWS isn’t that much slower than the R8 V10, since Audi says that it will reach 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, only 0.2 second slower.

There are some benefits to the R8 RWS besides just the cheaper starting price. The 2018 Audi R8 RWS also gets a 10 percent stiffer front anti-roll bar, half a degree of negative camber in the rear and the steering has been slightly tweaked for better feedback. The R8 RWS also weighs 110 pounds lighter than the all-wheel drive R8.

Hopefully the cheaper starting price for the R8 RWS will entice you, since there are still reports that the Audi R8 will disappear after the current model’s production run.
