If you love the Audi R8 you better get one fast, since it’s being reported that the R8 will not be replaced when the current model reaches the end of its life cycle, around 2020. According to the report Audi has decided to kill off the slow-selling R8 and the electric R8 e-tron is dead in the water.

Automobile states that the R8 will disappear in 2020 when the new Lamborghini Huracán arrives. Instead of focusing its efforts on the expensive and slow-selling R8, Audi Sport will continue to build out its range with more mainstream models, with the new flagship slated to be the RS Q8 SUV, which will share the same 650-hp V8 as the Lamborghini Urus.

The upcoming RS4 and RS5 will also arrive soon with a new 450-hp 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6. The RS6 and RS7 models will continue on as well with a 4.0L V8 that packs anywhere from 500 horsepower to 650 horsepower.

Even though the electric Audi R8 e-tron is dead, Audi Sport will still offer an electric car, which will be based on the Porsche Mission E.
