Aston Martin has unveiled the beautiful 2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante, which is going to arrive early next year, just in time for the perfect spring weather. Visually the DB11 Volante retains the styling of the coupe, but its soft top can provide the open air experience in a mere 14 seconds.

The DB11 Volante replaces the DB9 Volante and will initially be powered by a 4.0L twin turbocharged V8 that’s borrowed from Mercedes-AMG. It generates 503 horsepower and 513 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels. A V12 engine is expected to be added later.

“With the DB11 Volante we have maximized the advantages of the DB11’s all-new bonded structure to underpin our new Volante with a structure that’s 26 kg (57 pounds) lighter and 5 percent stiffer than its predecessor,” stated Max Szwaj, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer.

Buyers will be able to choose from three soft top colors: bordeaux red, black silver or grey silver. The soft top can be lowered in 14 seconds or raised in 16 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. Aston Martin also says that the new soft top design provides 20 percent more trunk space than the outgoing DB9.

Pricing for the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante starts at $216,495.
