Compared with its predecessor, its wheelbase has grown by 2.6 inches and its overall length by 1.7 inches. When the new E-Class arrives this summer, the first model, the E300, will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Additional engines will be offered after launch, which should include a new plug-in hybrid variant.
