While the Tesla Model 3 promises to bring a 200-mile electric car to the masses, Chevy might have just got there first. Chevy has unveiled the 2017 Bolt electric car at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas!

Just a year ago, Chevy unveiled the Bolt concept at the Detroit Auto Show, where the automaker promised to bring the small EV to market by the end of 2016 with a driving range over 200 miles. Chevy is still holding to that promise with production expected to begin later this year. In addition to the 200 mile driving range that easily trumps today’s electric cars, with the exception of the Model S, the Bolt is also expected to have a price range below $30k after you factor in the available federal tax credits.

Chevy hasn’t revealed the official specs for the Bolt, but it will have room for five passengers and more cargo capacity than the i3. Its interior will also feature a 10.2-inch touch screen and 4G LTE connectivity. In terms of styling, the production version isn’t a huge departure from the concept version that we saw last year at the Detroit Auto Show, but you will notice some changes to the front and rear of the small EV.

Chevy hasn’t revealed the official specs for the electric motor or how far it will actually be able to drive over the 200-mile mark, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long, since the Bolt EV will enter production later this year.
