Contrary to early reports that Mercedes’ new crossover coupe would be called the MLC, a new report claims that it will actually be dubbed the M-Class Coupe. Since the BMW X6 fighter is based on the M-Class, it makes a bit more sense.
According to Mercedes-Benz Passion, the crossover coupe will be officially named the M-Class Coupe when it is unveiled early next year, with the actual models being called ML550 Coupe and ML63 AMG Coupe. The naming convention follows the coupe versions of the S and E-Class lines.

There’s also a chance that if the M-Class Coupe does well, a coupe version of the GLK-Class could be released and named GLK-Class Coupe.

The M-Class Coupe is expected to arrive by the third quarter of 2015.
