2016 Chevy Malibu Hybrid tops the segment with 46 MPG combined rating

Chevy has announced that the 2016 Malibu Hybrid is now the most fuel efficient hybrid sedan in its segment with a 46-mpg combined rating. With a 47 mpg city/ 46 mpg highway rating, the Malibu Hybrid easily tops the hybrid versions of the Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry and Kia Optima.

Chevy has announced that the 2016 Malibu Hybrid is now the most fuel efficient hybrid sedan in its segment with a 46-mpg combined rating. With a 47 mpg city/ 46 mpg highway rating, the Malibu Hybrid easily tops the hybrid versions of the Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry and Kia Optima.

The Malibu Hybrid is powered by a 1.8L four-cylinder that is mated to a two-motor drive unit. The system borrows technology from the Volt and generates a total 182 horsepower. An 80-cell, 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides electric power to the hybrid system. It can power the Malibu Hybrid up to 53 miles per hour on electricity alone.

Pricing for the 2016 Malibu Hybrid starts at $28,645.
