Later this year Audi is going to unveil the new 2016 Audi A5 Coupe and Convertible before they show up in showrooms early next year.
With increasing competition from models like the 2014 BMW 4-Series and 2015 Lexus RC, Audi knows that it needs to update the A5 Coupe and Convertible. Later this year Audi is going to unveil the new 2016 Audi A5 Coupe and Convertible before they show up in showrooms early next year.
According to Car & Driver, the second-generation A5 is going to get an evolutionary redesign and will be built on VW Group’s MLB modular-longitudinal architecture. Thanks to the use of more aluminum the 2016 A5 will weigh about 200 pounds less than the current model.
What will power the next A5? Expect the same 2.0L four-cylinder and 3.0L supercharged V6 engines to return. The range topping RS5 is going to ditch its current 4.2L V8 for a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8.
