Volvo has announced the release of the 2015 Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar models, which are slated to arrive in showrooms this summer. The high-performance versions of the S60 and V60 debuted today at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
Based on the S60 and V60, the Polestar editions are powered by a 3.0L turbocharged T6 six-cylinder engine that packs 345 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. of torque. The T6 is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and a Polestar-developed, Haldex four-wheel drive system. Volvo estimates that it will reach 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
Compared to the lesser powered S60 and V60 models, the Polestar editions get stiffer springs, high-performance Öhlins shock absorbers, larger brakes and 20-inch wheels. Inside they also get upgraded seats.
Volvo only plans to bring 120 units of the S60 and V60 Polestar to the U.S.
