Volkswagen is giving the 2015 VW Scirocco a facelift and it’s going to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Forty years after the first Scirocco debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1974, the 2015 Scirocco is going to get styling updates and a new range of engines.
On the outside the 2015 Scirocco gets an updated front fascia with new headlights and a revised bumper with aerodynamic ‘blades’ in the outer section, like those of the latest-generation Golf GTI. The rear gets new LED taillights and a reshaped bumper. The Scirocco range gets new alloy wheels, while the Scirocco R now comes standard with 18-inch ‘Cadiz’ alloy wheels.
Inside, the dashboard has been updated, with new-look dials and an auxiliary instrument cluster above the center console, consisting of chronometer, charge pressure and oil temperature gauges – a tribute to the 1974 model.
Under the hood six new turbocharged gas and diesel engines are available, with the Scirocco R being the most powerful with a 276-hp 2.0L turbocharged engine.
The updated VW Scirocco will arrive in European showrooms this fall, but unfortunately there aren’t any plans to bring the current generation to the U.S.
