Subaru just unveiled the 2015 Subaru Outback at the New York Auto Show ahead of its arrival this summer. The all-new Outback is now the fifth-generation of the popular wagon and this time it now has the roomiest interior ever and a 33 mpg highway rating.
The 2015 Outback is powered by the same powertrains as the new Legacy, which means the base engine is a 175-hp 2.5L four-cylinder and a 256-hp 3.6L six-cylinder is optional. Both engines are mated to a CVT and an all-wheel-drive system. Compared to the last Outback, the 2015 Outback is now more fuel efficient with a 25 mpg city / 33 mpg highway rating for the four-cylinder and 20 mpg city/27 mpg highway for the six-cylinder.

If you don’t like the look of the new Legacy, then you won’t like the new Outback, but either way it is more expressive than the last Outback. Of course we’re all still disappointed that the Legacy concept didn’t have more of an influence on the new Legacy or Outback.
The 2015 Outback comes with a list of new safety features like new front seat-cushion airbags and a Rear Vehicle Detection System that offers three functions: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
