Subaru has officially unveiled the 2015 Subaru Legacy today at the Chicago Auto Show and one thing is clear – it bares little resemblance to the Legacy Concept. Once you get past that sad point, the 2015 Legacy does look better than the outgoing model and is more fuel efficient with a slightly roomier interior.

From the front the 2015 Legacy’s face draws many similarities to the 2015 WRX with its large grille. It’s also more sleek than before with a windshield that is more raked and pulled forward at the base. Subaru says that the new windshield angle, higher seating hip points, new front partition windows and door-mounted side view mirrors help improve visibility. A 10-percent improvement in aerodynamic efficiency contributes to lower fuel consumption.

When the 2015 Legacy arrives this summer buyers can choose from a 175-hp 2.5L four-cylinder Boxer engine or a 256-hp 3.6L six-cylinder Boxer engine. Both engines are mated to a standard CVT transmission and all-wheel-drive. Subaru estimates that the four-cylinder Legacy will be rated at 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, while the six-cylinder model is rated at 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
