A batch of patent photos of the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 RS have leaked out, giving the world an early look at the top version of the 911.
The 2015 911 GT3 RS is expected to be significantly lighter than the regular GT3 thanks to a lithium-ion battery and a titanium exhaust system. Car Magazine is reporting that the GT3 RS will be powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat six-cylinder with around 500 horsepower that will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. While that won’t make the 911 GT3 RS the most powerful 911, it should be the fastest around the track thanks to several aerodynamic upgrades and its low weight.

The exterior of the 911 GT3 RS borrows its wide body from the 911 Turbo, but then gets air vents on the front fenders, a huge rear wing and a ‘double bubble’ roof that gives more room for helmeted passengers.
