Ford is giving the full size 2015 Ford Expedition a refresh, which is similar to the same changes that the 2015 Lincoln Navigator received. Compared to the outgoing model, the 2015 Expedition gets a new face, a slightly modified rear end, more technology and a new engine.

From the front you’ll notice that the 2015 Expedition has a new face with an updated grille, tweaked headlights and a new bumper with LED fog lights. The rear gets a redesigned hatch and chrome-tipped exhaust pipes. Overall the new Expedition still looks mostly the same, which is in contrast to what GM just did with its all-new full size SUVs.

Under the hood the old 5.4L V8 is gone and is now replaced by a 3.5L turbocharged V6. Ford hasn’t released all the specs for the new engine, but did say that it will deliver more power and will be more fuel efficient than the outgoing V8. In the Navigator it has 370 horsepower and 430 lb-ft. of torque, which is more than the old 5.4L V8 with 310-hp and 365 lb-ft. of torque. Will buyers still want the tried and true V8? We’ll have to see, but if you want a new full size V8 powered SUV you’ll have to head over to a Chevy or GMC showroom.
