Chrysler has announced that the 2015 Chrysler 200 and Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available with a new engine Stop-Start technology that can improve fuel-economy results by three percent and reduce emissions by up to three percent.
Chrysler has announced that the 2015 Chrysler 200 and Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available with a new engine Stop-Start technology that can improve fuel-economy results by three percent and reduce emissions by up to three percent.
The Start-Stop technology will be available on Chrysler 200s powered by the 184-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder, and the Jeep Cherokee with the available 271-hp 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6.

“We’re taking highly efficient engines and upping the ante to further benefit our customers,” said Mike Duhaime, Global Director-Electrified Powertrain Propulsion Systems. “ESS leverages intricate control strategies to deliver a superior driving experience, as well as the expected fuel-savings and emissions-reduction.”
The system uses a high-speed/high-durability starter that reduces crank time and beefier batteries maintain other vehicle systems so in-cabin comfort is unaffected. The technology will arrive in the third quarter of this year.
