It was rumored that BMW is going to unveil the 2015 M4 Convertible at the New York Auto Show later this month and now BMW has unveiled it ahead of the show. with the exception of the retractable hard top, the M4 Convertible is nearly identical to the M4 Coupe.
The 2015 M4 Convertible is powered by the same 425-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder engine as the coupe and M3 sedan. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or seven-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission that sends all that power to the rear wheels.

The biggest difference between the M4 Coupe and the M4 Convertible, is the fact that the convertible is much heavier. That retractable hard top weighs a lot with the M4 Convertible coming in at 4,055 pounds with the six-speed manual, which is a big jump from the 3,530 pound M4 Coupe. BMWdoes say that the M4 Convertible is 90 pounds less than the last M3 Convertible.
The BMW M4 Convertible will reach 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds with the 6-speed manual, while the dual-clutch transmission is faster at 4.2 seconds. The M4 Coupe is definitely faster at 3.9 seconds with the dual-clutch transmission and 4.1 seconds with the manual.
The 2015 M4 Convertible is slated to arrive this summer.
