BMW has unveiled the 2015 2 Series Convertible ahead of its world debut next month at the Paris Motor Show. The 2 Series Convertible will be offered in the same 228i and M235i versions as the coupe when it arrives in the U.S. in early 2015.

The 2 Series Convertible looks almost identical to the Coupe with the exception of its fabric soft-top that can open and close in a mere 20 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. There are also three color options for the top and BMW says that its soundproofing has improved over the previous 1 Series Convertible.

Buyers can choose from the 240-hp 228i that reaches 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive 228i xDrive is barely faster at 5.6 seconds to 60 mph. The M235i Convertible is powered by a 320-hp 3.0L six-cylinder that can be mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. With the eight-speed automatic, the M235i Convertible reaches 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
