Bentley has unveiled the 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed ahead of its debut next month at the Paris Motor Show. With 530 horsepower on tap, the Mulsanne Speed will be the most powerful version of Bentley’s flagship sedan.
The Mulsanne Speed is powered by a 6.75-liter V-8 that generates 530 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque and even with a curb weight of 6,000 pounds it accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 mph. Even with all that power, Bentley says that the fuel efficiency of the V8 has been improved by 13 percent, which translates to an extra 50 miles of driving range.

The V8 is mated to a recalibrated eight speed transmission that has a new “S” mode that gives the driver even more control, and maintains the engine speed above 2,000 rpm so that the turbochargers are always ready to deliver instantaneous performance. A Sport mode also stiffens the suspension.
Besides the updates to the powertrain, the rest of the Mulsanne Speed doesn’t differ that much. The biggest change is that a dark tint has been applied to the grille, lower bumper grilles, wing vents, headlights and taillights.
The Bentley Mulsanne Speed will arrive early next year.
