The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT has just been named “SUV of the Year” by Esquire magazine in this year’s Esquire Car Awards. “The one sonic experience of the year that I will not forget is engaging the ignition on the [Grand Cherokee] SRT,” said David Granger, Esquire magazine editor-in-chief. “This is the sweetest-sounding most reasonably priced engine note of our time.”
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is the high-performance version of the Grand Cherokee and is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 with 470 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque. For the 2014 model year the Grand Cherokee SRT received a new eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers better fuel economy.
On the outside the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT receives a more aggressive exterior with new signature LED character lamp treatment, a brawnier grille and a new rear spoiler. Inside the Grand Cherokee SRT gets a new 8.4-inch touchscreen and new launch control button that is located behind the new T-handle shifter on the center console.
