BMW is going to officially unveil the i3 next week, but the first photos have already leaked online.
Earlier this week BMW released the pricing for the 2014 BMW i3 electric vehicle, which starts at $41,350 before any state or federal tax credits are applied. BMW is going to officially unveil the i3 next week, but the first photos have already leaked online.
The production version of the i3 looks almost identical to the concept version. The big differences are a new bumpers, revised headlights and conventional doors with smaller rear doors that open rearward for better access to the rear seats. The i3 will be powered by a 170 horsepower electric motor and a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery. The i3 will have a range up to 100 miles, while the available two-cylinder range extender engine will increase its total range to around 180 miles.
